In the European and Eastern conservatory tradition, the earliest lessons are the most consequential and the most patient. What looks like slow progress is in fact the careful setting of posture, ear, and attention that everything later depends upon.

What a good beginning looks like

A student who is not rushed learns to listen before they learn to perform. They build a relationship with the instrument that is unhurried and secure, and that security is what allows real ambition to follow.

This is why our Preparatory Program has no seasonal deadline. A foundation cannot be scheduled to a calendar; it is laid when the student is ready.
