In the European and Russian tradition, the earliest lessons are the most consequential — and the most patient. What looks like slow progress is in fact the careful setting of posture, ear, and attention that everything later depends upon.

What a good beginning looks like

A student who is not rushed learns to listen before they learn to perform. They build a relationship with the instrument that is unhurried and secure, and that security is what allows real ambition to follow.

This is why our Preparatory Program has no seasonal deadline. A foundation cannot be scheduled to a calendar; it is laid when the student is ready.
